Automatic Transfer Switch Architect (Finance)
Schneider Electric's ASCO Power team has an outstanding opportunity for a passionate, energetic, and self- driven system architect to help drive the future of our ATS and PCS offers. As a part of the technical engineering team the essential responsibility of the Architect is to influence the technical direction of ASCO Power Team to ensure that projects are developed & deployed efficiently with the strategic direction of the business.
Responsibilities:
• Provide an interdisciplinary approach governing the total technical effort required to transform a set of stakeholder needs, expectations, and constraints into a solution and to support that solution throughout its life.
• Coordinate between engineering teams, business stakeholders, and project management to explore, create, and determine feasibility to develop new offers and solutions
• Technical leadership responsibility for one or more concurrent projects that require custom system design and deployment. For each project, all activities where systems engineering expertise is needed will be included and the System Architect should have a full understanding of implementation requirements and how multiple pieces of the implementation will fit together.
• Lead the system architecture of the proposed customer solutions based on defined requirements
• Build the long term system view, by anticipating on future technical system/segment requirements and by integrating innovation coming from LoBs pre-development and new technologies.
• Work directly with other groups within the organization to develop and validate proposed solutions and designs
• Lead solution design review sessions and obtain design approval from customers
• Leadership responsibilities include providing technical guidance to other members of the department as well as senior management
• Prepare project analysis, design, functional architecture documentation
• Work with systems engineers to define, create and animate customer use cases that deliver simple user interfaces and experiences.
• Ensure the alignment of products/solutions with customer values
• Leverage globally available software, UX and UI platforms.
• Stay in front of technology trends and competition to help deliver innovative offers.
• Identify path-finding opportunities and create proof-of-concepts with a focus on future generations of product
• Bachelor of Science degree in a related engineering field with 10+ years of full system life cycle development experience.
• Comprehensive knowledge of system architectural principles, methods, and techniques
• Great leadership skills, ability to influence partners and stakeholders internally and externally
• Strong foundational knowledge of all relevant codes and standard that could impact the design of the product. (NEC, IEC, UL1008, etc)
• Understanding of internal Transfer Switch systems to fully understand impact of product changes and evolutions.
• Experience with external applications of transfer switches into Power Control Systems, BMS systems, and other industrial control processes.
• Network solutions experience and strong knowledge of network services and devices
• Awareness of customer pain points and ability to find features that bring value
• Ability to work and contribute as an effective team player in a fast-paced technical driven environment
• Developed interpersonal skills with an ability to interact and influence internal and external customers of various technical abilities
• Ability to self-manage, multi-task and learn new skills quickly
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to travel to Schneider Electric and customer sites worldwide
Travel: ~15% (Once a Quarter on Average)
Reports to: Director of Engineering
Work Style: Hybrid (Policy is at least 2 days in Office)
