Get to Know This Role
Engages, connects, and offers guidance and education for guests in our Sierra Nevada Gift Shop and our Brewery location. Serves as a brand ambassador for Sierra Nevada by welcoming guests, initiating conversations, accurately answering questions, processing retail transactions and providing assistance, and creating a genuine connection supporting our relationship-driven business.

What You Will Do
Provide a friendly welcoming environment by smiling, greeting and acknowledging every guest when they enter the store and engaging them in conversation.
Operate computerized cash register and Point of Sale (POS) system. Assure fast, efficient check-out. Handle cash and accurately make change, assist guests with returns and exchanges.
Answer general customer questions about the brewery including the history of Sierra Nevada, the Craft Beer industry in general, and beer styles
Stock merchandise including placement on racks, shelves, counters and tables, ensuring that stock levels on the sales floor are maintained at all times. Maintain cleanliness and organization of storage spaces.
Participate in store Team meetings, team collaborations, and required training.
Stock the beverage cooler and face product, practicing FIFO and rotating inventory properly. Participate in store physical inventory as assigned.
Maintain a thorough understanding of Sierra Nevada retail merchandise brands and availability
Maintain a thorough understanding of merchandise, food items, and beverage ingredients.
Perform light housekeeping of Gift Shop and stock areas. Clean shelves, counters, windows and tables.
Greet and interact with both internal and external customers, handling inquiries and directing them according to specific needs; when possible, resolving customer issues through empathy, active listening and creative problem solving.
Maintain cleanliness of Gift Shop and stock areas. Clean shelves, counters, windows and tables. React to glass breakage, spills and similar incidents in accordance with our departmental safety procedures.
Align with responsible beverage selling policies according to local alcohol laws.
Answering the Gift Shop phone lines for the brewery, fields questions with appropriate phone etiquette.
Ability to pour beer when necessary to support tastings and bar/retail sales opportunities.
Provide flex work into tours support, First Impression Team assistance, and support the overall Guest Experience department mission as needed
Please Apply if You Have
Retail and/or customer service experience preferred
Cash handling experience preferred
Experience working a computerized cash register or POS system preferred
Beer pouring experience preferred
CA Food Handler's Card (CA only; within 90 days) preferred
CA Responsible Beverage Server Training (CA only; within 90 days) preferred
Ability to be welcoming, enthusiastic and energetic in talking about our fun, growing industry is critical
Ability to prioritize work, quickly and seamlessly shifting gears when necessary
Desire and ability to learn and understand the different styles of craft beverages and the beer making process
Proficiency in Microsoft Office desired
Additional Requirements to Consider Before Applying
You must be at least 21 years of age to work for Sierra Nevada Brewing Co.
Selected candidate must pass a pre-employment, post offer background check.
Candidate must be able to work occasional weekends and Monday - Wednesday, 10 AM - 6:30 PM
