Responsibilities:
Perform benefits administration, assist in employee relations, and maintain personnel files including ensuring nursing department certifications and licenses remain active.
Maintain human resource information system (HRIS) records and reports.
Maintain records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
Ensure adequate and appropriate staffing of the facility nursing department to meet the needs of the residents based on budget, census, DHS requirements, and other factors.
Assist with recruitment, answering applicant calls, regarding position availability, coordinate interviews, and hiring of new staff.
Assist employees in obtaining information concerning their paycheck, deductions, and overtime.
Communicate with corresponding managers to facilitate quality orientation programs and provide each newly hired personnel with an orientation schedule.
Assist in preparing payroll data for computer input.
Communicate all concerns regarding HR, Payroll and Staffing to the appropriate Supervisor on a timely basis.
Complete and post monthly nursing schedule in online scheduling program, coordinating requests to ensure appropriate coverage of units.
Communicate with outside staffing agencies as necessary to provide adequate staffing per DHS requirements as approved by administrator.
Answer employee calls regarding scheduling issues and prepare written correspondence as necessary.
Maintain daily tardy and absenteeism calendars for employee performance appraisals, reporting to the Director of Nursing Services all issues.
Work with Director of Nursing Services when scheduling modified work duty employees in accordance with work restrictions and facility policy.
Qualifications:
Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent; Associates Degree preferred.
Experience in Human Resources and Payroll practices preferred.
Experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
Maintain confidentiality of all resident care information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
Create and uphold an atmosphere of warmth, patience, enthusiasm, and a calm and cheerful environment.
Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
