Home Health Aide Hospice (Per Diem) (Healthcare)
Visiting Nurse Service and Hospice of Suffolk (VNSHS) is an independent not-for-profit healthcare agency that serves patients and their families throughout Suffolk County Long Island with visiting nurse home and hospice services, inpatient Hospice House, rehabilitative therapy, medical social work, home health aide care, nutritional education and diabetic counseling, community programs, and more.

Some Job Responsibilities:
The Home Health Aide is responsible for rendering personal care and assistance to the VNSHS patients under the direction of a Registered Nurse and under orders from the patient's physician, reporting changes in the patient's conditions or situation to the Hospice House Staff Nurse.
Provision of personal care to patients consistent with the established care plan, which may include:
Shower, bed, or sponge bathShaveMouth careDress/clotheToileting
Daily activities can include:
AmbulationTransfers Turn and position in bed
Health related tasks:
Meal preparationAssist with feeding Encourage/restrict fluids Routine catheter care
Housekeeping tasks:
Patient laundryChange linens and make bedClean and tidy patient general areaMaintain kitchen cleanlinessGarbage removal
