2nd Shift Prod Line Supervisor (Food Services)
Job Summary
This position is accountable for supervision and performance of hourly employees engaged in the processing of metals to ensure that the quantity and quality of production meet established targets, output of equipment, and customer requirements.
Summary of Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities
• Completes production plans by scheduling and assigning personnel; creating production vouchers; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries
• Provides production information by insuring accuracy of records and data, analyzing production performance
• Ensures that all plant employees abide by the procedures and work instructions
• Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the safe operation of all equipment and all hazards in their work area, maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures
• Ensures operation of equipment. Contacts the maintenance department for repairs. Builds necessary preventative maintenance into production schedule
• Ensures that all materials are stored safely and accessible; maintains inventory control by conducting cycle counts and ensuring production vouchers are reconciled
• Other duties as assigned
Preferred Education and/or Experience
• Should have prior experience with the metals service center industry
• Broad experience with safety systems and enforcement of safety rules and policies
• Strong planning and organizational skills with analytical and decision-making abilities
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Intermediate computer literacy; preferably Microsoft Office Products
• Must be highly motivated, results-oriented individual
• 4-year degree; business or technical field
• 5 plus years' experience in a production /manufacturing environment; preferably 2+ years of supervisory/managerial experience
