Open Rank Clinical Faculty - Biostatistics and Biostatistician for the Humana Integrated Health System Sciences Institute (Finance)
This faculty is expected to engage in collaborative research within the Department, Institute, College, and University, teach medical students, and, when appropriate, mentor junior faculty and students. Applicants must have a doctoral degree in biostatistics, or a related field, with a track record as an investigator on grants and evidence of interactive, integrative, and cross-disciplinary teaching experience. Candidates are expected to participate in funded research through active collaboration with faculty members at the University of Houston. Ideal candidates should also have interest in primary care, public health, population health, or value-based payment models and have expertise in clinical trials, observational studies, longitudinal studies, diagnostic studies, bioinformatics, surveillance, Bayesian statistics, risk prediction, geospatial analyses, or machine learning.
The faculty will be a critical force for planning, funding, promoting, and executing programs for the Department and Institute. The Institute has a mission to improve the value of healthcare, with a focus on primary care, through research, training, and community engagement. Its research will further treatment models, advance clinical sciences in areas such as primary care, nursing, social work, optometry, and pharmacy, and enhance value through high-value care and value-based payment. Its training will prepare health professions students, faculty, and practitioners to thrive in and shape health systems while its engagement activities will partner with communities in pursuit of well-being.

Rank and salary commensurate with academic achievements and experience. Consistent with all other appointments within the College of Medicine, this is a non-tenure track position.
