Production Planner (Finance)

Job Summary
Responsible for planning, scheduling and coordinating the blending and packaging of lubricants produced by the facility. Develops all of the production schedules for the blending and packaging operations. Responsible for customer satisfaction, employee safety, influence product quality, and the communication of risks/concerns in production attainment to Plant Management. Assures that schedules are implemented to meet the needs of the customers while maximizing facility assets. Responsible for developing just-in-time manufacturing techniques as well as minimizing the use of the base materials in the manufacturing of all products. Also responsible for coordinating tankage and equipment requirements with the Engineering and Maintenance Department, and helps assume the responsibilities of the Supply Chain & Inventory Control Manager in his/her absence.
Minimum Qualifications
Degree:
1. Review outstanding orders in SAP and compare against current inventories. Work daily on Planned Order Report and look up each item in SAP to review inventory requirements.
2. Coordinate blending activities with daily bulk loading and packaging schedules. Schedule the blending of all products in time to meet customer requirements.
3. Establish daily and weekly packaging schedules. Update both schedules and communicate needs with other departments.
4. Collaborate with Supply Chain Specialists to establish arrival of bulk and drummed additives. Review inventories of all additives to ensure proper supply of all materials on time.
5. Coordinate arrival of all packaging materials. Schedule just-in-time requirements on packaging materials to avoid keeping excessive inventories.
6. Investigate the addition of new additives, base oils, and finished products and the impact they will have on tankage and blending schedules. Determine tankage requirements and determine where products are to be stored.
7. Review problems with product quality and schedule operations to minimize impact to the facility. Review product status to make sure product is ready when needed. Make necessary adjustment to schedules.
