Global Investment Strategy (GIS) is a unit of the Chief Investment Office (CIO) organization that is responsible for the management of the $400 billion General Account, which includes the domestic and international insurance investment portfolios of Prudential Financial Inc and affiliates. The GIS team is responsible for relative value assessment, new investment opportunities, cross portfolio strategy, active portfolio risk management, ALM strategy and analytics as well as environmental, social and governance (ESG) strategies for the insurance portfolios.
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Investment Senior Vice President (ISVP) to join our GIS team. This senior leadership role is pivotal in the development of the portfolio construction and surveillance of our General Account's investment portfolio. The SVP will report directly to the Head of Global Investment Strategy.
The ISVP will recommend and guide the top-down construction and continuous monitoring of the General Account's investment portfolios. This role involves close collaboration with leaders within the GIS team, General Account portfolio managers, asset managers, and risk management teams to ensure alignment with key portfolio objectives and adherence to our risk framework.
Additionally, the ISVP will lead the development of advanced, top-down portfolio construction strategies. The role includes managing concentration and correlation risks within the portfolio, helping set target sizes for individual issuers and sub-asset classes. The ISVP will also develop and enhance fixed income relative value frameworks for insurance company portfolios, encompassing a wide range of public and private asset classes. Furthermore, this role involves building and utilizing analytical tools and dashboards for effective reporting and communication of results.
The ideal candidate will be a market-oriented investment professional with a deep understanding of investment strategy, portfolio management, and risk management. They will have a proven track record in reviewing and constructing top-down portfolios. Extensive knowledge and experience in building fixed income relative value frameworks for insurance company portfolios is essential. The candidate should have expertise in managing concentration and correlation risks within investment portfolios. Strong analytical skills with the ability to develop and implement sophisticated reporting tools and dashboards are also required. Excellent communication and leadership skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams are crucial. We are looking for a seasoned professional who can bring strategic insight and robust leadership to our GIS team, ensuring the success and stability of our General Account's investment strategies.
The expected work arrangement (EWA) for this position is Hybrid, requiring your on-site presence on a recurring basis as determined by your business needs. Your manager will provide additional details regarding the specific number of days you are expected to be on-site.

What you'll need:
• 10-15+ years of investment and/or risk management experience is required
• Bachelor's Degree
• MBA, CFA designation, or CAIA designation is preferred
• Deep experience working as a portfolio manager at an asset manager managing life insurance client portfolios is preferred
• Deep capital markets knowledge with experience in a variety of fixed income asset classes
• Strong communicator, coordinator and thought partner; comfortable and effective partnering with senior level executive team
• Excellent project management skills
• Previous experience in investments, credit analysis or fixed income
• Knowledge of insurance capital frameworks
Note: Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $245,000 to $300,000. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
