The PATH Program Manager plays a vital role in the treatment team, overseeing program operations and ensuring the successful delivery of wellness groups and activities to clients. This position is responsible for setting the program's vision, defining goals, developing action plans, and providing leadership, supervision, and guidance to a multi-disciplinary staff. The Program Manager ensures adherence to program requirements and contract specifications while managing multiple types of Case Management services for SMI/SED clients.
How will I contribute
Lead the design and implementation of program services, ensuring alignment with wellness and recovery values, as well as evidence-based practices. Conduct mental health assessments and provide treatment to persons served in the Specialty Mental Health Services component and work in tandem with the psychiatrist. Oversee and manage the outreach teams, ensuring effective engagement with clients and communities to maximize program impact. Provide leadership and direction for the program, including staff supervision, training, and development. Maintain accurate, timely, and clear records for all clients served. Offer professional consultation and linkage with colleagues, professionals from other disciplines, and external organizations. Represent the program in management-level meetings with community partners and providers, fostering potential partnerships and service linkages. Attend all Fresno Madera Continuum of Care meetings to track and coordinate services for clients. Work independently under the guidance of the Regional Behavioral Health Director to resolve client and staff-related issues. Cultivate and maintain positive working relationships with community-based organizations, faith-based entities, and other partners to ensure sustained support for clients beyond their initial service engagement. Develop and organize collaborative staff training in accordance with contract requirements. Provide staff oversight, including performance feedback, mediation, and support, as well as facilitating ongoing professional development. Monitor program outcomes and collect monthly data for the Regional Behavioral Health Director to report to the County of Fresno DBH analyst. Support front-line staff in advocating, linking, and assisting clients in accessing services for basic needs. Interview, onboard, and train new staff on program models, service delivery expectations, and essential job functions. Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall functioning and success of the program. May encounter risk of working with persons with SMI (serious mental illness) that may include, but not limited to persons in mental health crisis, persons that may be intoxicated or impaired by drugs or alcohol, persons who may be DTO (danger to others), DTS (Danger to Self), or GD (Gravely Disabled). If such situations arise, staff will be required to call local emergency personnel to help deescalate the crisis, use crisis intervention techniques, and consult with supervisor as soon as practically possible.
What I bring
Master Degree in Psychology, Clinical Counseling or related field 2 years experience in managing mental health or behavioral health programs. Experience providing clinical and direct services to clients and AMFT or ASW in good standing with the Board of Behavioral Sciences. Class C Driving License Must possess knowledge in mental health and behavioral health treatment, including wellness and recovery values, evidence-based practices, and case management strategies for SMI/SED clients. A deep understanding of program design, implementation, and outcome measurement is essential, as well as the ability to provide leadership and supervision to a multi-disciplinary team. The role also requires expertise in building collaborative relationships with community partners and service providers to ensure effective client outcomes. Familiarity with trauma-informed care and experience working with dual diagnosis populations. Ability to lead and manage a diverse team, ensuring effective program delivery and staff development. Strong problem-solving skills are essential for addressing client and staff challenges independently while maintaining program quality. The ability to build and sustain relationships with community partners, navigate complex service systems, and effectively communicate with both internal and external stakeholders is crucial. Additionally, the role requires the ability to oversee outreach efforts, monitor program outcomes, and ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory standards. May require the ability to obtain credentialing through the local County Managed Care Department. Strong leadership, adaptability, and a commitment to fostering a supportive, collaborative environment. They should be compassionate and empathetic, with a genuine passion for helping individuals with mental health and behavioral health needs. A proactive, organized, and results-driven approach is essential, along with the ability to remain calm under pressure and effectively manage multiple tasks. The individual should be approachable, respectful, and able to build trust with clients, staff, and community partners. Licensure as LMFT or LCSW in good standing with the Board of Behavioral Sciences preferred
