Senior Director, Digital News (Project Management)

This is a position that can be based in any Scripps unit where the company is licensed to do business.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Develop and own the overarching digital news strategy for the company, aligning with broader business objectives, such as revenue goals, and consumer needs.
Analyze consumption trends and behavioral data across our digital news properties to identify opportunities for growth and optimization.
Collaborate with Scripps News, local newsrooms, streaming & digital, teams to ensure a seamless digital news experience.
Develop strategies to integrate AI-powered technologies into the digital news workflow to enhance content creation, curation, and personalization for users.
Provide strategic guidance on the development and deployment of modular news content, websites, and other digital news assets.
Create connections between digital news strategy, engagement with audiences, and collaboration among employees to drive innovation and growth.
Identify and implement best practices in digital news distribution, monetization, and engagement.
Monitor industry trends and competitive landscape to inform our digital news strategy and innovation.
Serve as a thought leader and advocate for digital-first news priorities within the organization
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
BS/BA in related Discipline or equivalent years experience preferred
Generally, 10+ years of experience in related field preferred
Prior managerial experience preferred
Previous experience in digital strategy, news, or broadcast media
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
Expertise in leveraging AI and data-driven insights to enhance digital news processes and experiences
Ability to foster a culture of collaboration and innovation, both virtually and among employees, to drive the digital news strategy forward
Strong analytical and data-driven mindset, with the ability to derive insights and recommendations from complex data sets
Proven track record of driving digital transformation and innovation within a media/news organization
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams
Deep understanding of the digital news ecosystem, including emerging trends, technologies, and consumer behaviors
Strategic thinker with the ability to develop a cohesive, long-term vision
