Dry Ingredient Inventory Control VB - 3rd Shift (Finance)
ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Records accurate inventory of boxes, bags, ingredients, and coolers and distributes them to departments.
Ensures inventory received matches BOL and evaluates incoming product for damage.
Loads and unloads delivery trucks.
Records week end and month end inventories in a timely manner to correlate packaging used with accounting.
Ensures that the box room is kept clean, neat, in order and ensures all materials are stored properly.
Participates as a member of the Team. Participates in ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs and policies; coordinates work to ensure B.E.S.T practices with all team members. Attends appropriate team meetings. As a member of the Team, fosters strong cohesiveness regarding all major issues; e.g., direction, annual plan, budget, policy changes, etc. Accepts responsibility to quickly identify any areas that lack cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader and working with the team in a supportive manner to resolve issues and actively look for ways, and reinforces actions needed, to achieve synergy possible within the larger organization.
Simmons Operating systems principles and objectives: Is familiar with Simmons' established operating systems (e.g. quality, security, office environment, company policies); understands the responsibility to maintain familiarity with the systems and this position's role in support of these systems - including a consideration of the impact of individual actions on the systems and the responsibility to communicate concerns and improvement ideas.
Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives: This position description is intended to guide the activities of the Inventory Controller and is not intended to limit the thinking and creativity of the person to the work of this function nor is it intended that this describe all the work that may be required of the person in this position.
Physical Activities: Must be able to stand on feet for the majority of shift; be able to work in a cool, wet and noisy environment; must be able to lift up to 70 lbs. of frozen product from the floor to waist; must be able to bend and squat to and from the floor frequently.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): (STD) waterproof gloves, sleeves, waterproof slip resistant footwear and ear plugs.
Travel: May be required to take a company vehicle to an outside cooler within a 50 mile radius.
Technical Experience: Basic computer skills. Have the ability to obtain and maintain forklift and pallet jack licenses.
Industry Experience: Preference for poultry or food processing organization.
Minimum Education: Ability to read and write basic English. Basic math skills with use of handheld calculators.
Preferred Education: High School or GED.
Competencies: Must demonstrate good interpersonal skills in dealing with people, must have good analytical skills. Good teamwork, must have the ability to make good decisions and communicate effectively with others and leadership team.
