Accountant I (Engineering)
Position Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Full cycle accounts payable processing: Match invoices with receipts, process, and code invoices into the accounting system (BisTrack) and employee expense reports.Communicate with vendors, purchasing and staff to resolve inquiries regarding invoices and payment status.Handling phone and email inquiries from vendors and opens and sorts AP mail.Collects credit balances along with filing and mailing out checks.Process Petty Cash checksUpdate and maintain vendor database; ensure proper documentation is on file for new vendorsResponsible for reviewing invoices/credits for sales/use tax compliance. Files required tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies.Responsible for General Ledger coding of expensesReconciles bank accounts, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.Aids/supports the Senior AccountantPerform other duties and responsibilities as required and assigned.
Education/Experience
Knowledge of Accounting Activities requiredAssociates degree preferred in business, accounting, or finance fieldMinimum 2 years of experience in Accounts Payable (in leu of education)

Must pass pre-employment drug screenMaintenance of regular attendanceHandle financial information with discretion and with confidentiality.Proficient with MS software and outlook, BisTrack experience a plus

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
Normal office conditions apply. Employee must have clear, close vision for reading and computer work. Must be able to sit, stand, walk, balance, stoop, grasp, talk, hear, and operate computer keyboard. Will occasionally lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds.
