Benefits Analyst (Finance)
• Drawing upon benefit knowledge, understanding of the business environment, and requirements and under limited supervision:
o Support benefit projects such as company wellness plan, open enrollment and new vendor implementations
o Develop, document and implement internal procedures and system controls to ensure effective plan operations
o Monitor regulatory changes to ensure full compliance with all government mandates/regulations impacting benefit plans
o Provide consult to other People & Culture team members on benefits
• Collaborate with third party vendors to implement process improvements to optimize plan operations
• Function as a key contact for plan administration issues and problem resolution
• Maintain effective working relationships with internal functional departments such as legal, IT and finance to resolve issues and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
• Develop communication strategies and materials to ensure employees' awareness, understanding and effective utilization of the plans
• Function as backup to Health & Welfare Benefits Manager as needed
• Aid other members of the Employee Benefits team and the organization to ensure quick, equitable, courteous and accurate resolution
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of benefit plan administration experience, with an emphasis on health and welfare plans; prior retirement plan (qualified and non-qualified) experience is helpful.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred, but not required
• Certifications (CEBS or other benefits-related) a plus
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• High-level customer service skills
• Ability to manage a variety of tasks simultaneously
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, etc.)
• Experience with PeopleSoft and the ability to immediately apply this toward the role
• Experience with outsourced benefit administration vendors preferred
• Ability to build strong working relationships with outside vendors and internal cross-functional departments
• Strong business acumen
