Job Summary:
The Automation & Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) Support Supervisor role supports ongoing operations at the Portsmouth, NH site through ensuring that manufacturing support is provided both on and off shift in a timely and organized manner. The focus of the role is on providing the highest level of support to manufacturing operations in the areas of administrative access and training for staff and addressing processing delays in real-time in order to minimize process downtime. Responsibilities of the Automation Support Supervisor function include both tactical support of ongoing plant operations and strategic analysis and implementation of measures to remedy or preempt future issues. The position is also responsible for organizing and executing activities around deviation and process investigational requests. The role reports into the Engineering department at the site and includes supervising responsibilities for Automation Support Engineers.
Key Accountabilities and Duties:
Performs all work safely and meets the requisite training requirements.
Responsible and accountable for resolution of all process holds/interruptions and quality investigations in the suites.
Provide SME support to Manufacturing and other departments for the design and operation of process equipment.
Complete change request lot assessments to support lot release, approves assessments for direct reports.
Represents group at Controls Engineering DMS meetings, leads meeting as needed.
Ensure that automation support coverage is accurate and staffed appropriately.
Assist with call analysis and identify potential changes and areas of improvement.
User access provisioning and account maintenance.
Assign work to direct reports including new projects and initiatives, prioritize work based on business needs, impact to quality and safety, and employee development.
Guide direct reports through technical challenges and escalation of issues.
Conduct regular 1-on-1's with employees to check progress on work objectives.
Assist with development of employees to help employees achieve career goals.
Perform mid-year and year end performance reviews with employees.
Ensure automation support shift handovers are complete and accurate.
Assists in department recruiting efforts as an interviewer.
Accountable for technical work of direct reports.
Ensures timely execution of PMOPs.
Assist the Quality department with deviation investigations.
Performs review/approval of deviations.
Participate in RCAs.
Participates/Leads quality risk assessments.
Review/revise SOP's and work instructions in support of, error prevention activities, and best practice.
Remain up to date on all assigned training activities including SAP Learning Portal (>90%), ComplianceWire (no overdue), iComply (no overdue), and QSMRT (attend all sessions).
Ensure that the group remains up to date on all assigned training activities including SAP Learning Portal (>90%), ComplianceWire (no overdue), iComply (no overdue), and QSMRT (attend all sessions).
Responsible for organization/scheduling of operator training as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Key Skills Requirements:
BS in Engineering or Related Degree.
6+ Years of Related Professional Experience.
