General Responsibilities: Responsible for the overall accounting functions for multiple properties to include: • Driving excellence for timely and accurate accounting. • Ability and knowledge to prepare & analyze monthly profit & loss statements. • Prepare journal entries, detailed reports, reconciliations and perform other accounting functions in accordance with policies, procedures, and deadlines. • Assist with projects as required by Corporate Controller.
Primary Functions:
Construction Accounting Responsibilities: · Maintain accurate records of all project finances for internal/external auditing and tax purposes. · Track all Construction cost against budget and keep up to date · Report any financial risks and budgetary discrepancies to management for review. · Maintain electronic billing folders for all projects with the appropriate documents, including monthly waivers and invoices. · Prepare and organize various reports, financial forms, and analyses. · Process development & construction invoices including consultants, vendors, subcontractors, and supplier bills. · Review the process for proper coding of construction invoices/payment applications and lien releases for contractors, subcontractors, and vendor invoices. · Perform month end close process for development & construction books preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and bank reconciliations.
Corporate Accounting Responsibilities: · Meet all processing and reporting deadlines. · Resolve account payable issues or queries as requested. · Complete monthly state and local tax filings for each property in a timely manner. · Be knowledgeable of all SOPs for the development & construction accounting area. · Perform other duties as assigned by Corporate Controller which includes but is not limited to: o Balance sheet reconciliations o Bank reconciliations o Payroll o Audits
