Position Overview:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and strategically minded Controller to join our team. The successful candidate will lead the finance team for the Radar and Sensor Technologies (RST) business group based out of Ypsilanti, Michigan. We are looking for a leader with strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills who is able to develop, analyze, and present financial information / models in a concise and easily comprehensible manner. Responsibilities:
Ensure accounting compliance with US GAAP
Review and analyze various financial statements and reports
Lead monthly close process including review of journal entries, allocations, reporting to the parent company, etc.
Review and analyze percentage-of-completion and shipment-based revenue models
Management and analysis of direct & indirect rates
Review and approve account reconciliations
Support and interact with auditors for financial statement and government audits
Understand key business drivers
Assist project teams with financial guidance across all functions of the organization
Build financial models
Perform ad hoc analysis as required
Be proficient using Deltek Costpoint
Work collaboratively across functions and businesses
Lead a team of finance professionals managing all personnel related activities
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, or related finance area
8 years of experience in Accounting, Month End Closings and Financial Reporting
Strong knowledge of US Government Contract Accounting (FAR, DFAR, CAS) a plus
Ability to present financial information to a non-financial audience
Working knowledge of accounting and finance best practices
Strong organizational and multitasking skills
Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
Detail-oriented and able to perform in a high-pressure environment
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
Strong Excel and modeling skills
Proficiency in other Microsoft Office tools
Strong understanding and experience working with ERP systems
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with CPM Tools
Experience using OneStream software tool
Experience using Deltek Costpoint and related financial systems, to include Cognos Reporting
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) a strong plus
