ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:
Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling program (CRMHC) is one of the four degree programs within the department of Child & Family Studies (CFS), College of Behavioral & Community Sciences (CBCS) at the University of South Florida (USF). Organized into three research divisions and four academic programs that work synergistically, CRMHC currently has approximately 10 faculty and staff members. The CRMHC offers two concentrations of study: Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling and Clinical Mental Health Counseling, two graduate certificates (Addiction and Substance Abuse; Marriage and Family Therapy), and one undergraduate certificate (Addiction and Substance Abuse) program.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Provides academic and student support to the Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling (CRMHC) Program within Child & Family Studies. The CRMHC Program consists of a minor, one masters and two certificate programs, and a fully on-line cost recovery masters program. The position administers academic policies and advises faculty, staff, and students on matters related to the Program. Serves as first point of contact with prospective undergraduate, masters and certificate students; attends and coordinates recruitment events and assists with marketing programs. Assists students with admissions, thesis, and field-placement activities. Serves as a purchasing agent and backup travel delegate for CRMHC faculty and students. Provides BANNER support for course scheduling, reporting, and other issues. Coordinates textbook orders for all academic programs within the program.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Student Support: Advise students on policy and procedural programmatic and course information. Maintain current student files; assist students with thesis and dissertation committee membership requirements; schedule thesis and dissertation approval activities. Stay informed on the various policies and procedures impacting our students and how the University procedures intersect with our college and departmental policies. Communicates with students regarding academic prerequisites and course selections. Coordinates orientation for new students. Conducts graduation checks on students using SASS reports.
Recruitment and Admissions: Provide advising to potential students for the program, the Master's program and the Cost Recovery on-line masters program. Attend career day recruitment events across Florida representing our programs. Respond to student inquiries about program requirements and also provide information on graduate school requirements and deadlines. Assist with admissions for all programs and maintain prospective student application files. Organize application information for review by faculty and provide qualitative and quantitative reports on the applicant pools. Coordinate admissions activities/meetings and prepare correspondence to applicants and prospects.
Instructional program support: Schedule courses in BANNER and work with the College to coordinate space requirements and class logistics. Coordinate textbook orders for all programs in CRMHC and Marriage and Family Therapy Program. Assist the Coordinator of the On-line Masters program with communications with students regarding courses, textbooks, and other on-line issues. Assist with questions about the on-line modules (non-degree), and with CRC & licensure exam preparation courses, Coordinate accreditation reports and survey data.
Liaison with other USF departments including but not limited to: Graduate School, CBCS Dean's Office, Human Resources, Physical Plant. Liaison with external adjunct faculty and practicum supervisors/sites. Maintain records of, and contacts with program alumni. Research job postings for current/recent graduates.
Graduate Assistantships: Coordinate information on available assistantships. Provide guidance to faculty on policies and procedures for hiring and supervising graduate assistants. Coordinate with departmental staff to ensure processing of graduate assistantships, and monitor the process of Graduate Student tuition waivers for teaching Assistants and graders.
Performs other duties as assigned
General Administration: Liaison with other CFS Departmental staff for ordering supplies, faculty travel, human resources, and other transactional needs. Works with Directors on building faculty meeting agendas, and attends meetings and takes minutes. Assists faculty with general correspondence needs. Manages the preparation and tracking process of Letters of Graduation for Florida Board of Regulation. Lead projects by being primary point of contact and actively engage in actions to drive progress. Review project deliverables to ensure accuracy and attention to details including spelling and grammar, relevant information, and formating.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM:
This position requires a Master's degree in education or a field of study related to the academic program, or a Bachelor's degree in those same fields with a minimum of two years of experience.
PREFERRED:
Experience working with students, faculty and alumni. Banner/Canvas experience. Ability to research policy/procedures and to professionally put policies into place. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal required. Statistical data analysis helpful.
