Senior Accountant (Project Management)

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our Specialty Contractor accounting team. In this role, you will oversee the preparation of financial statements, ensure compliance with tax regulations, and assist with strategic financial planning. You will also mentor and supervise junior accounting staff, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.

Job Duties:
Oversee the maintenance of financial records, including journal entries and account reconciliationsPrepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statementsEnsure compliance with tax laws and regulations, including the preparation and filing of tax returnsDevelop and implement budgeting and financial forecasting processesAnalyze financial data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvementSupervise and mentor junior accounting staffCollaborate with internal and external auditors to ensure accurate financial reportingDevelop and maintain internal control procedures
Prepare account reconciliations Prepare journal entries Analyze and update job cost data Investigate and resolve data discrepancies Gather data for sales tax returns and research tax issues and rates Subject Matter Expert for accounting ERP modules such as AP and AR and support related functions The above list of duties is not to be construed as an exhaustive list and other duties logically associated with the position may be assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or a related fieldCPA, CMA, or other relevant certification preferredMinimum 5-10 years of accounting experience, with a focus on financial reporting and analysis.Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel (SAGE Timberline Preferred, along with strong Excel skills)Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical skillsEffective communication, leadership, and time management skills
